Scoring Guide

Just a quick little guide if you were curious on how I rank each individual subject, if there is any sort of structure to them...

Sorry the layout isn't super pretty. I really don't think anyone will be looking at this much, and it's more just here for myself, to which I'll likely refer to my notepad document instead.

COVER: /5

- good meh bad outside cover (1-3)
- does it have an inside cover? Yes: +1
- is the inside cover good? Yes: +1
*One extra point if the case is blank but the colour of the case adds to the overall look

DISC ART: /3

- No art 0
- same as cover 1
- different but just ok 2
- different and GOOD 3

ALSO NOTE - Least glossy to most glossy;
Matte (non reflective) Satin (low reflective) Gloss (reflective)

CASE: /3

- Sturdy case/difficulty to open 0-1
- Push button. Bad 0 ok 0.5 good 1
- other 0-1

MENU: /5

Doesn't have much of a structure, I mostly just wing the scoring here. But things I take into account;
- menu button noise. It's better to have no SFX than bad SFX. But good SFX do be good.
- BG Music: For TV series, I don't usually like the music being the OP song (probably not the ED either). You will hear it so many times, you do not need to hear it in the menu. A instrumental version of the OP is better. But preferably it will be something else. This is less of an issue with movies, since you usually only hear the theme once or twice, so it gets a pass.

//But here's some scoring meanings

0 = How could this happen to meeee? I've made my mistakes--
1 = I mean.. I guess it works. It's still shit though.
2 = There's a thing or two it does ok. But it's still not great.
3 = It isn't bad. It isn't great either.
4 = This is really good. Works well, vibes are good... etc.
5 = Above an beyong menu design. Blown me away.

FEATURES: (not ranked)

pre menu video:
- How long are the logo animations
- Are they skippable?
- if there are ads, are they relavent/good recommendations?

audio/subtitles:
- Does it include [cc]?
- If an anime, does it have the original english sub and [cc]?
- Are there other language options? (rarely)

Bonus features:
- Bonus features are good. Unless the bonus feature is just an ad.

FINAL SCORE /10

- eyeballed. Going with my gut. Here's some rough score meanings:

1 = Worst shit I've ever seen in my life
2 = Dogwater
3 = Really not good
4 = Reaches the bare minimum
5 = It's perfectly fine
6 = Good
7 = Really nice!
8 = Just, top quality. It's clear a lot of effort was put into this
9 = I have been blessed
10 = We didn't deserve this, but we got it, and we be eating well because of it

Rating system is not set in stone.
